This term year 6 are doing money matters as their topic. On Monday they had a lady from actionaid called Anne who has over 20 years experience. She told year 6 about the work they do and where the money year 6 raise will go towards. Actionaid work in many poorer countries with the whole community. They have lots of different projects to care for different communitys needs like
- Farming

- Health
- Water
- Savings(Money)groups
- Education
- City life

- Preventing problems E.G storms
- Rebuilding lives
- Campains
They work around the world in 40 diffrent countries. Here are some interesting facts-
- 1 in 8 people go hungry every night, mostly children
- 1 in 3 familys live under £1 a day
- 95% of the worlds wealth is owned by men
- In Africa ladies aren't allowed to own land
- Actionaid work with over 20 million people
In Africa females do not get treated as equally as males. For example they can not own machines,if the man owns a farm and he dies the lady will get kicked out along with her children,if there is a boy in the family and the father is dead then the boy will grow up to take over and look after the mother and other children.
